Itâs been nearly 30 years (!) since the Casco Bay Tummlers released their first CD, âKlezmer Music.â And we are proud and happy to say weâre about to release our fourth album, âDreams of Yesterday and Tomorrow.â Weâre still bringing you our fresh takes on Jewish music, collaborating with renowned keyboardist Jamie Saft (who has played with everyone from Iggy Pop to Laurie Anderson) to present a mix of original compositions â whose Klezmer roots are obvious â mostly by Tummlers flutist/guitarist/vocalist Carl Dimow along with heartfelt renditions of Jewish standards, featuring the Tummlers own âKlezmer-atura sopranoâ Nancy 3. Hoffman.
We hope youâll come to hear us play these tunes and more at Cadenza on Saturday, July 5. Along with Nancy (on accordion, too) and Carl, youâll hear Peter McLaughlin on drums, John Clark on bass and Steve Gruverman on clarinet and sax.
