Program times vary.
June 26 â Make Your Own Plant Press 1:00 – 3:00
Pressing flowers and leaves is a great way to preserve natureâs beauty! In this session, we’ll build simple, portable plant presses then gather plant samples from around the garden to start your own botanical collection. Kids will learn how to properly press and dry flowers to use in art projects, nature journals, or for keepsakes.
July 1 â Rock Painting & Story Stones 10:30 â 12:30
Turn ordinary stones into tiny works of art! Weâll explore the garden to find inspiration for our own adventure story! Then we’ll use paints to decorate stones with colorful patterns, animal tracks, or even symbols. Kids can create their own set of storytelling stones to take home and use for creative play.
July 25â Bug Hotels & Mini Habitats 1:00 â 3:00
Did you know that many insects, like ladybugs and solitary bees, need safe places to rest? In this hands-on workshop, weâll gather twigs, pine cones, and other natural materials to build small shelters for helpful garden bugs. Kids will learn about pollinators and why insects are an important part of a healthy ecosystem.
August 5 â Fairy Gardens 1:00 â 3:00
Bring a little magic into the garden! In this workshop, weâll explore the outdoors to gather natural materials like moss, bark, and tiny flowers, then use them to create our very own whimsical fairy gardens. Kids can design small homes and pathways for imaginary fairy visitors while learning about the plants and creatures that call the garden home.
August 21 – Nature Bracelets & Crowns 10:30 â 12:30
Get creative with natureâs colors and textures! Using bands of paper or fabric, kids will collect leaves, flowers, grasses, and other treasures to weave into bracelets or crowns. As they craft, weâll talk about different plant species and seasonal changes in the garden. A perfect activity for little nature lovers!
September 20 â Felted Wool Acorns 1:00 â 3:00
Celebrate the start of fall with a cozy craft! In this workshop, kids will use soft wool and real acorn caps to create adorable felted acorns. Weâll explore the garden to find oak trees, talk about how animals use acorns for food, and practice simple wet felting techniques to turn wool into colorful treasures. A great way to welcome the changing season!
October 4 â Start a Seed Collection 11:00- 1:00
As summer winds down, plants are getting ready to spread their seeds! Kids will go on a scavenger hunt to find different types of seeds, from fluffy milkweed to sturdy sunflower heads. Weâll talk about how seeds travelâby wind, water, and even hitching rides on animalsâand kids will take home a few to plant or save for next year.
