On Saturday May 10, the creative community of Burque will transform the National Hispanic Cultural Center into a living, breathing work of art—a place where music, creativity, and culture collide in a kaleidoscope of color, movement, sound and connection.

By day, immerse yourself in large-scale art installations, hands-on maker activities, and interactive experiences that invite all ages to create, play, and explore. Wander through a world of sculpture, movement, and performance where artists and community collectives turn the city into their canvas—made possible through the generous support of the City of Albuquerque.

Savor Albuquerque with local food, craft beverages, and bold flavors, from traditional New Mexican bites to creative culinary twists. Explore a curated market of artisans and makers, showcasing handcrafted goods, art, and unique treasures from local makers.

As the Sandias glow pink in the evening light, Shannon and the Clams take the stage, filling the air with golden-hour melodies. Then, as night settles in, the energy surges—Chromeo’s DJ Set and electrifying beats turn the NHCC campus into an open-air dance floor, a moonlit party beneath the stars where art and music move together as one.

Doors: 3:30 pm

Live Music & Performance: 4:00pm – 11pm

$50 advance tickets (March 22 – May 9), $60 Day of Show (May 10), Children 12 years old and younger free with the purchase of an adult ticket, and $130 VIP Pass.

✨ What to Bring

✅ A small bag or clear bag (Think light, bright, and hands-free for dancing, if you’re packing for a crew/family— bags must be no larger than a standard backpack size roughly: 18”x13”x8” or smaller. One bag per person.)

✅ SOMOS is a largely cashless event. (Please bring a debit or credit card for all purchases on-site at bars, mercado, and merch tent!)

✅ An empty reusable water bottle (We’ll have a free water refill station — stay cool, stay hydrated.)

✅ Strollers or wagons (Families are part of the heartbeat of SOMOS! Just remove bags for a quick check.)

✅ Costumes, color, glow, and creative outfits (This is your moment to shine — express yourself joyfully and thoughtfully. Celebrate the traditions that inspire New Mexico with care and respect.)

✅ Blanket or folding chair (A perfect little spot to catch your breath between adventures, we will have tables and chairs scattered through the event as well but if you prefer your own, you’re welcome to bring)

✅ Sunscreen, hats, sunglasses (The New Mexico sun shows up in full — and we love her, but she’s strong!)

✅ Good vibes, open hearts, and community love (Kindness, patience, and celebration are the real magic that makes SOMOS unforgettable.)

What to Leave at Home

❌ Full face masks (partial masks, makeup, and glitter are all welcome!)

❌ Unauthorized Sound or Professional Photography Equipment

❌ Pets (service animals are always welcome)

❌ Outside food or beverages(Except small snacks for young children and for medical needs. Otherwise, come hungry and enjoy our incredible local food trucks and beverage vendors!)

️ Quick Entry & Security Notes

• All bags, strollers, and wheeled transport will be checked at entry.
• Security metal detectors or wanding will be quick and friendly.
• Clear bag and no-bag express lanes are available. Clear bags are encouraged!
• VIPs will have expedited entry.

Festival Tips

Arrive early — there’s so much to discover!

We encourage scootering, bicycle riding, and ride share to event to minimize parking traffic, there will be bike racks available outside event to chain bike to!

Stay hydrated — water refill station and non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverage vendors are ready for you.

Express yourself with love and respect — we are a patchwork of cultures, histories, and dreams. Kid and adults are encouraged to come in full color, costume, glitter, whatever expression is most joyful for you to wear. YOU ARE THE CANVAS 🙂
