One night only! Funky dance party at The Cantab Lounge in Central Square

PK and the Mighty Seven at The Cantab Lounge: This 9-piece funk, soul, jazz and R&B group started playing Jamiroquai covers for a weekly residency at The Middle East and have now been performing together for over a decade. They are more than just a group of musicians; this is a close-knit family with a creative camaraderie forged from many years of playing music as a band. Their unabashed commitment to quality and consistency sets them apart with fun and creative arrangements of classic covers, and they take pride in limiting the number of shows played each year to ensure they remain focused, full of energy, and ready to make every gig an unforgettable party.

The band features Prophet and Sarah on vocals, a dynamic 4-piece rhythm section with Matt on drums, Ren on bass, Nate on keyboard, Miles on guitar, and a vibrant 3-piece horn section of Jake on trumpet, Joel on tenor sax, and Mike on trombone. They draw crowds of hundreds at Somerville Porchfest each year playing a setlist of nonstop hits. This November, they are playing this special show for one night only at the historic Cantab with a funky dance party to remember!

The Cantab Lounge is a legendary venue located in the heart of Central Square, originally named for the term “cantabrigian” describing residents of Cambridge. Since its inception in 1938, the club has been a cornerstone of the city’s music scene, offering a unique space showcasing live music, comedy, and spoken word acts seven days a week.

This is the first time PK and the Mighty Seven are performing at The Cantab! A limited number of tickets will be available at the door on the night of the show. On Sunday evenings, The Lounge is open from 5pm-1am. Street parking at meters is free all day on Sunday – the Green Street parking garage is around the corner.

Set one: 8:30-9:30pm
Set two: 10-11pm
