2023 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway – Daytona Beach, FL
The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season is set to kick off with the Busch Light Clash exhibition race at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on February 5. Two weeks later, points-paying action will begin with the 65th running of the Daytona 500, scheduled for February 19 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Jimmie Johnson is scheduled to return to the Cup Series for Petty GMS Racing in this race. Currently, there are 33 drivers confirmed as full-time drivers for the 2023 season and three other chartered entries that still need drivers. There are also three other part-time entries confirmed for the Daytona 500, with more likely to be added to the list in the near future. If more than four non-chartered entries make the entry list, then not everyone who attempts to qualify for the 200-lap race will make the 40-car field. With the race set to take place in six and a half weeks, the list of drivers and entries is still in flux.
