Prepare for an unforgettable musical experience as the Cincinnati Music Festival takes over Paycor Stadium for two incredible nights in July. This renowned festival combines the best of old school soul, R&B legends, and hip-hop superstars, promising an electrifying lineup that will leave you wanting more. On July 21 and 22, be ready to groove to the iconic sounds of Snoop Dogg, Al Green, Babyface, and Jill Scott, who will be headlining the festival. The festivities kick off on July 20 at the adjacent Andrew J. Brady Center with a special tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. This nostalgic night will feature legendary artists such as Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, and Rakim, taking you on a journey through the history of this influential genre. Night one of the festival will showcase the soulful performances of Al Green, Jill Scott, Jodeci, Midnight Star, and Gerald Albright. The second evening will be a cosmic celebration with the intergalactic funk icons P-Funk, along with captivating sets from Avery Sunshine and Norman Brown.
Producer Joe Santangelo expressed his excitement about this year’s lineup, stating, “We are thrilled with this year’s lineup for the Cincinnati Music Festival presented by P&G. It’s the first time for Snoop Dogg to perform at the Festival, and Al Green last performed in 1974. We know they will both be huge draws for our fans. It’s also an honor for us to plan a Thursday performance to pay tribute to the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop.” After the disappointment of two cancellations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the beloved Cincinnati Music Festival made a triumphant return last summer with a stacked lineup featuring Janet Jackson, Charlie Wilson, Anthony Hamilton, the O’Jays, and more. This festival has a rich history, beginning as the Ohio Valley Jazz Festival in 1962, and evolving over the years to embrace a wide variety of musical acts. From jazz legends like Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis, and Duke Ellington to R&B icons like Luther Vandross, New Edition, and Whitney Houston, the festival has hosted some of the greatest names in music. Each year, it attracts over 50,000 fans to the concerts and the vibrant Festival 513 street party.
