Meteors on the Meadow: Leonids – Harpers Ferry, WV

Don’t miss this upcoming 2024 Local Event in Harpers Ferry, WV. Happening on Saturday, November 16, 2024 at Friends Wilderness Center. Doors open at 8:00 PM.

The Leonid meteor shower peaks in the predawn hours of 11/18 with a max of ~10 meteors/hour anticipated.

The meadow at Niles Cabin is a welcoming space for astronomical observations. This event is NOT a structured program, but an invitation to relax and view the wonders of the night sky. Email (center@friendswilderness.org) if you would like to camp overnight or enjoy breakfast after the show.

DONATIONS : Programs and events are offered on a free-will donation basis, but participants are kindly requested to consider a $20/adult ($10/child) minimum donation to support our mission, facilities & care for the wilderness. Those who are able to contribute help ensure that access to the healing power of nature is available to all.
