SHEEN Magazine is elated to unveil the 2025 edition of the SHEEN Magazine Awards, where we will once again recognize the outstanding individuals and influential figures who continually shape Black Culture and serve as an inspiration for future generations. Reflecting on 2024, the event was a dynamic homage to the achievements of Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award Winner Billy Porter, the iconic R&B group Confunkshun, music industry executive and marketing expert Shanti Das, and esteemed film director and producer Leslie Small. The evening was made unforgettable by electrifying performances from emerging talents like Asher HaVon, the season 25 winner of The Voice, SHEEN Soundstage Artist Bay Ray, and seasoned artists such as Yung Joc and Jaguar Wright, among others, captivating all in attendance.
The upcoming ceremony this year is set to be an extraordinary evening, celebrating both the pioneers of the past and the visionary trailblazers of today who are creating significant impacts in film, television, music, comedy, business and beyond. Among the confirmed honorees is Ali Siddiq, slated to receive the “Icon of the Year in Comedy” Award. Many regard him as the comedian of the decade, making this recognition truly well-deserved. Additionally, the legendary Mary Jane Girls will be celebrated, along with veteran music manager Adrian Miller, with more honorees to be announced.
Anticipate larger-than-life musical performances, an increased number of celebrities, and, as always, a star-studded red carpet showcasing some of the most prestigious figures in Black culture. Returning as hosts are Gary with Da Tea, renowned for his co-hosting role on Dish Nation, his radio personality status on the Rickey Smiley syndicated show, and his acting career, alongside Tambra Cherie from OWN Network’s Belle Collective and radio personality on 97.7 The Beat of the Capital. A stellar lineup of television personalities, music icons, and industry leaders will also serve as presenters, adding even more excitement to this already spectacular event.
The Pre-Show, beginning at 7:00 PM, will spotlight Indie artists and innovative fashion designers. The Red Carpet will start at 6:00 PM and continues through 7:30 PM (with the show starting immediately at 8:00 PM).
