Pre Competition Recitals at 1120 Montecito Dr – Los Angeles, CA
Dear friends,
I’m currently preparing for a major international piano competition in Spain called “VIGO,” happening in mid-August. This one is incredibly special to me because the world-renowned concert pianist Martha Argerich is on the jury—she has been a huge inspiration of mine since I was a kid. I feel so blessed to have been selected to participate out of more than 400 applicants from 77 different countries!
To prepare for an event like this, it’s crucial for me to get as much live performing experience with my repertoire as possible. Because of this, I would love to invite you to my two “Pre-Competition Recitals.”
I’ll be playing my entire competition program spread across two different nights. We’ll be in an intimate salon setting in Northeast LA, and I’ll be playing on a beautiful 9-foot Steinway concert grand.
My two programs will include:
July 17th:
Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2
Chopin’s Ballade No. 4
Rachmaninoff’s “Etudes-Tableaux” Op. 39, Nos. 1-9
Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini ( accompanied by the splendid pianist Jahan Raymond)
July 19th:
Bach’s D Major Toccata
Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2
Chopin’s Etude Op. 25 No. 11 “Winter Wind”
Chopin’s Ballade No. 4
Ravel’s Toccata from “Le Tombeau de Couperin”
Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini (accompanied by Dr. James Lent)
Both concerts will start at 7:00 PM, and we’ll have drinks and refreshments afterward so we can hang out and celebrate. Normally, I make these concerts free with donations encouraged, but this time I’ve decided to sell tickets to help compensate for the heavy travel expenses to Spain. You can purchase your tickets here on Eventbrite, or Zelle me at 3236934720 to bypass the service fee.
I would absolutely love to share this music with you before I head off. Hope to see you there!
Warmly,
Dominik
