David Navarro & Horacio “El Negro” Jazz CubanoDavid Navarro is a Cuban trumpet player based in New Orleans and part of the next generation of Cuban jazz musicians moving into the jazz spotlight. Renowned for his versatility and skill, Mr. Navarro won the prestigious Jazz at Lincoln Center Essentially Ellington award. He has performed with greats of Cuban music and Spanish language pop music, like Emilio Morales, Bellita y su Jazztumbat, El Nio y la Verdad, and Jos Alberto El Canario. Navarro has played regularly in New Orleans, and at festivals around the world, with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, Charlie and the Tropicales, Cimafunk, and many more.Horacio El Negro Hernndez is a Grammy-winning Cuban drummer renowned for blending Afro-Cuban rhythms with jazz, rock, and pop. Raised in a musical family and trained at Havanas National School of Arts, he gained international recognition touring with Gonzalo Rubalcabas Proyecto before seeking asylum in Italy in 1990 and relocating to New York in 1993. Since then, he has become one of the most in-demand percussionists, recording with Carlos Santana, Michel Camilo, Paquito DRivera, Alejandro Sanz, and Roy Hargrove, among many others. However, we encourage you to arrive at least 90 Minutes prior to your showtime in order to enjoy full, relaxing dinner service in the Dining Room right next door, before getting seated in the Music Room for your ticketed showtime.
This event is 13 and over. There is NO SMOKING allowed anywhere inside the building, and there are NO PETS ALLOWED at anytime. *Legitimate Service Dogs must be wearing full credentials at all times upon entry, and owner must have licensing papers available upon staff request for service dogs.
