The Pie Sessions with Honeypie Bakeshop | Puff Pastry Hand Pies – Milwaukee, WI

Learn the tricks to making your very own delicious pies with expert baking team of Honeypie Bakeshop.

Held inside our Honeypie Bakeshop Kitchen inside our cafe, Palomino, our very hands-on classes will guide you through a variety of different aspects of pie making and give you a peek into the life of a bakeshop. In each class you will make your own treats to take home. There will be lots of room for questions and answers during each class so come with all of your crust conundrums and filling inquiries . Classes are approximately 2-3 hours and are limited to 12 people. Classes are designed for ages 14+. Class requires that you stand most of the time and work at a table in a working professional kitchen. A new class to our Pie Session line up! This special class is taught by Honeypie’s Co-Founder and Chief Executive Pie Officer, Valeri Lucks. In this session will we learn the techniques for making an all-butter “rough puff” pastry dough – the kind of dough that bakes into tall and lovely, tender, flaky layers. This dough is an easier version of traditional puff pastry (or pastry dough that is similar to a croissant). It is perfect for making extra, flaky hand pies or a puffed-up top to a fruit pie or even a savory pot pie.

In class, we will make our dough and turn it into fruit hand pies. We will learn how to make fruit fillings that are best for these kind of tiny pies and how to assemble various shapes of hand pies. We will fully bake our pies in class and you’ll go home with 6 finished pies to share or keep for yourself!

Tickets for class includes all of your ingredients, recipes with tips and tricks, your finished treats and a drink ticket for the bar good for a tap beer, well cocktail, wine or any NA beverage.

(Please note, we often have long wait lists for our pie classes. Tickets to class are non-refundable if you cancel without more than 72 hours notice. If you need to cancel within 72 hours of class, you are welcome to email us, and we will offer your spot to a person on the waiting list. If it is taken by someone waiting, we will refund your ticket. You are also welcome to give your ticket to a friend and they can attend in your place.)
